In Bradenton Florida at the Bradenton Bridge work release center they held a real tea party for the apprentice female inmates that are past graduates or presently enrolled in the Culinary Arts program which is part of the American Culinary Federation Educational Assurance program. The tea party hostess and guess lecturer was Tampa's own tea expert and president of Love your Neighborhood Gail Henderson. She talked about tea's and tea etiquette and gave tasting of several tea's including a rare Korean green tea that sells for $50.00 per ounce. The past culinary art graduate baked blueberry scone, strawberry tarts, and make roast beef & cucumber sandwiches. The Culinary Art program at Bridges of America Bradenton branch is under the instruction of award winning Chef Daniel Brule. Chef Brule likes given his class a broad education and making them more aware of what is out in the real world. The Bradenton Bridge is work release center housing 120 female inmates who are towards the end of there sentence. Along with the 6 months culinary art program where the 15 inmates have culinary art classes and labs, they are also responsible for cooking three meals per day for the rest of the community and take the ServSafe managers course . Last month along the culinary classed cook over 7000 meals. When Angela Ashley the Administrator for the Bradenton Bridge first heard about the tea party taking place all she thought about was the taxes and was relieved when she found out it was a real tea party and partake in sampling the blueberry scones.
