April 15, 2009 - PRLog -- Designed to meet cGMP standards, the machines provide high performance and high reliability while maintaining fast product changeover. The Bergami Model TF 100 Tube Filler/Closer fills metal, plastic, or laminate tubes and offers several tube closure methods, including folding, hot-jaws, or hot-air sealing. Filling nozzles may be cut-off, blow-off, a combination cut-off/blow-off, or a valve nozzle, depending on the product to be filled. When integrated with a Bergami Model AS 150 Automatic Horizontal Cartoner and a Bergami wrapper, such as the Model CM 40, the machines form a complete packaging line for filling and closing tubes at up to 100 tubes per minute, loading and closing up to 140 cartons per minute and wrapping up to 60 cartons per minute. All Bergami machines offer a very small footprint, which reduces the required amount of floor space needed to install the complete packaging line.

Filled and closed tubes are discharged by the TF 100 and fed into the AS 150 cartoner using a specially designed tube infeed system. The automatic horizontal cartoner gently forms and loads the small- to medium-size cartons used by the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. The carton pick-up and positive opening mechanism consist of a tilting arm combined with a mechanical pre-breaking device that places the erected carton directly into the carton transport belts. This patented carton transport system incorporates scratch-proof white plastic toothed belts to ensure package integrity, even when handling cartons with a high gloss finish.

An integrated Model CM 40 Bergami wrapper completes the product packaging by wrapping small- to medium-size cartons using reels of heat-sealable wrapping material such as PP, PVC, PE, cellophane, etc. Film feeding by means of grippers allows difficult and thin films to be used. The film stops over the product, guaranteeing an aesthetic finish to the wrapping. Options such as tear tape application, printed film registration, film perforation, etc. allow for a number of packaging scenarios.

All Bergami packaging equipment is built to cGMP standards and incorporates a Balcony design that provides easy cleaning and maintenance and prevents debris from falling into the machinery. Central adjustments and digital indicators on the front of the machines allow for reproducible, settable adjustments, providing a fast changeover. In most cases, no tools are required.
