The system incorporates CardAccess with multiple credential technologies like card access, PIN codes and biometrics. It utilizes electromagnetic locking devices for access control.

The software can interface directly with analog surveillance cameras, manage visitors by issuing temporary credentials in exchange for scanned identification, manage employee payroll and attendance, exchange personal data with an external database, and provides an interface among access control, alarm and video systems. CardAccess CA3000 can even support third party custom applications that can lead to infinite possibilities.

There are also interfaces which are exclusive to Continental Access. The software has advanced scripting capabilities that allow a user to have the system automatically react in a certain way to a particular trigger. It has threat level management with the ability to lock down an entire facility with the click of a button. The Napco Gemini Alarm Panel interface allows the user to work with other alarm panels. With this technology, the entire system can be monitored locally with the CA3000 and be armed or disarmed with a single card.
