“How We See It” – By Jeff Gardner
There will be an opening & exhibit by Oklahoma artist Jeff Gardner at the "In Your Eye Studio & Gallery" in the Historic Paseo Arts District. Opening reception is Friday, May 1st from 6:00pm-10:00pm. In Your Eye Gallery will also be hosting the Parsons Vineyard & Winery located in Oklahoma City, OK. Show runs thru May 31st.
Jeff Gardner, in a series of hand-painted photographs, explores the way we see and imagine the beauty of the everyday.
He starts with photographs of the western Oklahoma landscape, creates gelatin silver prints in black and white, then paints on the surface of the prints using soft pastels. The resulting images highlight the dynamic nature of our surroundings, the beauty that is part of them, and the hope that can come from how we see it.
Jeff is donating a portion of the art sale proceeds throughout the May show to HeartLine, central Oklahoma’s community connection. HeartLine, a local non-profit organization, provides unique services such as the 2-1-1 phone service, a 24/7 CareLine, and a suicide awareness and prevention program, among others, to the residents of Oklahoma.
