This fine collection of Pre-Columbian works to be sold includes: textile fragments, figural vessels, polychrome pottery, painted stirrup spout vessels, footed bowls, a very rare frog effigy vessel, etc.
A few authentic African and Oceanic period pieces offered, include a superb Kota Reliquary Figure, a fine Mohongwe Reliquary Figure with copper and brass adornments, a Benin bronze, two very large (72”) Bambara N’tomo Masks, a very rare large Oceanic Skull Hook statue, an early 20th Century Nkonde Nail Fetish statue that stands 5 feet high and has been rarely ever been seen outside of a museum, a 1920‘s “Guardian Bird” from the Republic of Mali (Senufo Tribe) that is one of largest ever offered at auction, standing almost 7 feet high.
Additionally there are several pieces of 18th Century Indian Furniture in the auction, including: an 18th Century hand carved teak archway, a 9'x8' intricately carved palace door, (2) 19th Century carved curio/bookcase cabinets, a pair of hand painted sideboards and several rare tribal beds.
