April 14, 2009 - PRLog -- Los Angeles – At a time when two of our nation's biggest concerns are the environment and the economy, a small online business is aiming to address both. OrganiGoGo, a shop that sells all-organic apparel with eco-awareness themes and represents the creative works of independent artists committed to environmental issues, is making its debut just as Earth Day (April 22) is upon us.

OrganiGoGo founder and graphic designer Jean Roth says that the shop's mission is three-fold. "One, I wanted to showcase a wide variety of designs that address a range of environmental issues, unlike so many online organic apparel shops that are limited in artistic scope. Two, I wanted all the clothing to be certified organic; and three, I wanted OrganiGoGo to be a viable economic opportunity for fellow designers at this difficult time."

Describing itself as "Organic and Sustainable Go Hip!," the swinging 1960s-flavored shop addresses specific earth-friendly themes from organic farming and local food to alternative energy, conservation, sustainability, and recycling, in addition to the upcoming Earth Day.  Much of the artwork embraces pop culture and an edgy design sense geared toward a fashion conscious clientele. A dedicated section of playful designs especially geared toward children and babies makes shopping for little ones easy.

The t-shirts on OrganiGoGo are largely from Econscious, whose t-shirts are made in factories that have been certified according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), and American Apparel, whose Sustainable Edition is 100% USDA certified organic cotton.

As the current economic climate affects online entrepreneurs as much as offline retailers, web-savvy designers involved in the OrganiGoGo project have applauded the opportunity. One of them, independent artist Kristen Fox, not only shares her eco-journey on her dedicated "green" weblog, but also her creativity in fine arts, photography, and food on her other websites as well.

"I was really excited to hear about the opportunity to showcase my green designs along with those from other cool designers," said Fox. "Because the selection is wide, it's more likely a customer will be able to find exactly the eco-flavored t-shirt they want. That's not only great for the shoppers, but also a terrific boost for independent artists like myself trying to spread the word while making a living as an artist."

Award-winning digital fine artist Mary Ogle has worked in the "locavore" movement for over seven years. "As an independent artist involved in the local food movement I am especially interested in environmental issues, so I am thrilled to be represented by a marketing outlet that supports causes close to my heart." Ogle's whimsical designs are heavily represented in the locavore, farming and organic sections of OrganiGoGo.

"We have artists who work with marine and wildlife rescue groups, hands-on farming, community-based green projects or political activism," said Roth. "Others simply love the artistic process and expressing their hopes for a greener future. What brings us together is the desire to share our vision, support indie businesses and offer an attractive shopping destination for environmentally aware and fashion-conscious consumers."
