SMART™ is NOT a Microsoft Excel® spreadsheet solution. The analysis and concepts were created by an experienced appraiser/ appraisal instructor, but the software was developed and engineered by a professional software company. You do not have to understand Excel® in order to use the program.*
You DO however, have to be able to extract the data from your local MLS system. There are an estimated 800 MLS systems across the USA, each of them with some unique and customized features. As long as the data in the MLS system can be downloaded in a csv, Excel® or txt format, SMART™ can read it.
The user of SMART™, must have some understanding of their own local MLS system and know how to extract the information required for the analysis. Our technical support staff is geared to assist you with understanding how to use the program, not how to use your own local MLS system. We have found however, most MLS providers will be happy to assist you in getting the information you need to use SMART™. We will provide you with a list of the fields and data required for analysis. If your system does not have all of the fields required, SMART™ will analyze the fields that you DO have. Please note, if certain data is not available in your MLS, then all parts of the 1004MC may not be able to be popluated.
It is our philosophy, that it is more imporatant to assist you in properly analyzing markets than it is to simply sell you a program. In fact, we will not sell SMART™ to you until you have completed our webinar. We don't believe it to be a good business model to take money from someone only to leave them disappointed.
