San Clemente, CA – Some dolls have everything – the cars, the clothes, even mansions in Malibu. At the extreme opposite there’s Popsi, a trashy babe who’s down to earth and originates literally from trash. Popsi, the recycled rag doll from America’s recycled plastic bottles, has something more meaningful to boast about other then cars and clothes. Popsi is proud to announce that not only is she a non-toxic toy that saves energy, reduces landfill waste, and lowers greenhouse gas emissions, but is proudly made in the U.S.A. and makes her debut this Earth Day.
The story of Popsi’s trashy life unfolds within the pages of an enchanting children’s storybook titled Popsi, The Daughter of Mother Nature. Children become excited when they learn through the storybook, that Popsi’s comes to life as a real recycled toy, thanks to their recycling efforts.
Geraldine B. Lewis, the creator and writer of Popsi, was not inspired by the latest trend for "green" products. Rather she was motivated to help reduce the amount of valuable resources that are easily discarded and end up in our landfills. “Children need to be given tools that help solve our wasteful ways. What better way than through a toy to empower children to recycle and understand the benefits.” states Mrs. Lewis. “We all have trash in our lives, but knowing how to turn it into something positive is what Popsi is all about.”
In 2005 Ms. Lewis and her husband Cleveland Lewis Jr, MD founded GBL& Cljr Publishing and released Popsi, The Daughter of Mother Nature storybook. However, the manufacturing location of Popsi the toy became a moral dilemma. While it is nearly impossible for American manufacturers to compete with China's pricing, the Lewis’s felt it was important to create a safe product with a minimal carbon footprint. “What’s a toy without a message? Just another toy in a landfill.” states Mrs. Lewis.
GBL&CLjr Publishing is dedicated to teaching children through fun and creative recycled products the benefits of recycling. You can find Popsi on www.GoPopsi.com along with her other earth friendly products.
