Captain Blake has spent the last 44 years (crikey!) exploring the Aseanarean Archipelago under sail, in exploring uninhabited gem-like isles set in an azure sea, and in his life-long interest in the ecology of coral reefs, of island jungle and of the open ocean. Having seen it all already he gains fresh excitement in teaching young minds all he knows about such things, and about the geography, maritime history and literature of the region.
Captain Blake taught Science and English in New Zealand high schools before setting out to sail around the world. He is also a licensed Instructor with the Australian Yachting Federation to teach Sailing, Seamanship and Navigation up to Offshore Yachtmaster level…..and has taught thousands of people, young and old.
….count how many eggs a turtle lays…and afterwards we smooth out her tracks, so that marauding fishermen and monitor lizards cannot find her brood. With great good luck we may get to watch the whole Life process, mating in the water, the laying of the next generation, and a mass breakout from the nest by the young.
........Kayak into the Mangroves to learn how they propagate.
