Ideas and stories began to form in the author’s mind until Cordero, a schoolteacher, sat down and created a book that addresses issues many of our children and single parents face today.
This little book – which can be enjoyed by kids as well as grown-ups – is designed to show that both parents can love their children equally and that fathers play a vital role in the responsibility of raising a happy, well-adjusted child.
This story is told from the fresh and simple perspective of a 5-year-old girl living at separate homes with her divorced parents. It shows how a father’s presence can remain consistent and positive, conveying the unselfish, nurturing and critical relationship between a father and his daughter.
An easy-to-read book filled with bright, colorful illustrations, That’s Just the Way it Is helps children learn that dealing with divorce and living in separate homes can be okay, after all. Children also learn that a lot of things in their lives turn out a certain way and can be accepted as “just the way it is.”
