Nicholas recently worked on Regent Entertainment's new project, "The Awakening of Spring". He plays Eugene in the Seidelman adaptation of the Frank Wedekind play. The film is expected to be released later this year.
The story follows a group of American teenagers in the 1920s as they struggle to come of age in a time when sexual education is nonexistent, parents hold supreme sway over their children's lives, and the pressure to succeed is all-consuming, so much so that it drives one youth to suicide...
Downs also has just been attached to the film "Pure Shooter" in the role of Billy. The film is based on a true story about "A young man with incredible basketball skills who barely survives segregation, racism and an abusive father." The film is set to shoot in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Nicholas Downs has also been gathering quite a cult following with the short film "Orion Slaves Girls Must Die" where he plays a boy obsessed with everything Star Trek. This is the voyage of Jules (Downs) and Matt, best friends whose lives are devoted to Star Trek...and devoid of girls. When Matt falls for Stacey, an alluring sorority girl, he ashamedly hides his love of Trek to join a fraternity. Outraged, Jules must take drastic measures to bring Matt back to the Trekkie fold...
