Travelodge Hotel Saskatoon
The Travelodge Saskatoon has been working hard preparing for the safety management audit since the beginning of 2009, fully aware of how stringent and meticulous the COR program is.
The COR program consists of 13 elements including health & safety policy, emergency procedures, training and communication. The Travelodge was assessed on these 13 elements by a team of auditors. They performed an assessment of the hotel’s safety documentation, observed the hotel’s safety procedures and interviewed a cross section of the hotel’s associates on safety policies and procedures.

The award was presented to the Travelodge on April 1, 2009 by Rick Watson, Safety Director of SHSA and Rick Gartner and Cathy Davidson SHSA Safety Advisors. It may have been April Fools Day however the Travelodge has showed they are anything but foolish when it comes to the safety and health of their associates and guests.
Rick Gartner was full of praise for the Travelodge when he presented the award. “You and your staff are to be commended on your commitment to health and safety as related to not only the staff, but to your guests and clients, as well”.
The Certification of Recognition (COR) was developed by the SHSA in conjunction with the Joint Industry Committee (JIC) and the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association. It is a safety program that is recognized by all industries in Saskatchewan.
