Artful Animalz co-founder and lead designer, Mark Hedberg, came up with the idea for this line of wildlife themed gifts after a dream trip safari to East Africa with a group of friends was put on hold because of the economy. To cheer everyone up, and inspire them to not give up on the idea, Hedberg sent all his friends an Uncle Sam style T-shirt, with the hippo illustration and the line: "I want you...to get your butt over here." "It was a bit of a goof. But the response was so positive, with people asking for additional shirts and other animals for their kids and friends, we decided to flush it out and see what we could come up with. That's when "Jungle Instinct" featuring the Swahili names for the animals was born," said Hedberg, an award-winning graphic designer, artist, and advertising creative director, who confesses his "other life" dream job is to one day drive the tram as a tour guide at the San Diego Wild Animal Park.
