Whip Record’s Recording artist: The David Landon Band will be performing in Southern California in support of their new release “This Time” for 3 dates – May 8th. 9th and 10th.
Already popular in their native Bay Area, The David Landon Band will be bringing their message of the blues to Southern California for the very first time. Born in Los Angeles, David Landon has performed all over the world yet never before in Southern California. “These shows are definitely long overdue. This is a bit of a homecoming for me”, Landon said in a recent interview.
The performances are scheduled for May 8th at the Arcadia Blues Club (www.arcadiabluesclub.com)
The band’s leader is singer/guitarist and songwriter David Landon. David’s guitar playing has been described by Blues Access magazine as “Robben Ford Like liquid heat on the guitar”. He played extensively throughout Europe through much of the 90’s before returning to the US in 1995 to begin his recording career.
Joining David is Bass player Steve Evans and Drummer Randy Hayes who have played and recorded with such notable acts as Coco Montoya, Bo Diddley and John Lee Hooker Jr. and keyboardist David Judy has toured and recorded with Terrence Trent D’Arby and Sheryl Crow.
Any fan of the blues and of fiery blues rock guitar playing will not want to miss these shows. “The nicest compliment I ever got ”, says Landon “was one time when I left the stage and a man stretched out his hand to me and said ‘ I saw Jimi Hendrix in 1969 and after the show I got to shake his hand. Now I want to shake yours too’. I felt great for days after that…”
