CINCINNATI—Affordable Language Services has recently been awarded a contract to deliver interpretation services to Hamilton County Job and Family Services consumers.
The contract is retroactive to January 1, 2009 and runs through the end of 2009.
Translation and interpretation services in over 100 languages are offered through Affordable Language Services’ staff of over 350 trained translators and interpreters. Cincinnati and the entire Ohio Valley have access to this value-rich service thanks in part to translations offered via email and on-location interpreters. All staff go through a mandatory orientation and specialized training in addition to special medical and legal training.
“We look forward to providing sign language services to the Hamilton County Department of Job and Family Services. Communicating between the deaf and hearing-abled is something Affordable Languages can seamlessly facilitate,”
Affordable Languages, based in Blue Ash, a suburb of Cincinnati, was established in late 1999 by Lynn Elfers and two of her bilingual friends.
“I was a missionary in Costa Rica for over three years with my husband. We moved back to the US to start our family and when I returned, I had fluency in Spanish and I didn’t want that to go to waste. Affordable Language Services was formed as a result, and we have tripled our business,” said Elfers, “and we always stress what we are; and that’s high quality at an affordable price.”
