Even as the North Atlantic Council (NAC) condemned the North Korean launch, using ballistic missile technology, Asia’s Foreign Policy think-tank Mediazone Group expressed hope that Pyongyang would embrace change, soon.
Concern is mounting over North Korea’s continuing development and proliferation of ballistic missiles, missile-related materials, equipment, and technology, the launch is seen as yet another step in the development of a North Korean long-range intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM in violation of United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1695 (2006) and 1718 (2006).

“A total and complete reversal of N. Korea’s economic situation is imperative and urgent. It can be achieved in record time when its leadership steps up to engage the world community on the platform of reason and respectability. The geopolitical climate is right for N. Korea to assert its role as peaceful people with the vision and spirit to lead the world community toward peaceful co-existence.”
He added: “Condemnation and confrontation have failed in drawing Pyongyang closer. A deep and sincere appreciation of the situation is imperative. What is needed now more than ever is a perception-based solution that allows for the manifestation of tangible results.”
