SPF 30 Hincapie Skin Defense is specially formulated with Critical Wavelength 372, to provide maximum solar protection for athletes against the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB radiation. The water-resistant, sweat-proof formula is designed specifically for use by cyclists, triathletes, runners and other outdoor enthusiasts who need maximum protection in a variety of physical activities.

Water-based, Hincapie Skin Defense (SRP $17.99) is available in a unique 4 ounce, non-aerosol spray bottle that makes product application easy and effective. The pump spray can be locked in the off position to eliminate unwanted dispensing when stored in a jersey pocket, purse or saddlebag. A single application lasts up to five hours.
The technology behind Skin Defense was developed by Dr. Karl Gruber, a practicing surgical pathologist and a skin protection expert. The FDA and the AAD recommend using a product with a critical wavelength over 370nm, to help prevent solar aging and melanoma. Hincapie Skin Defense was specially formulated with encapsulated Octinoxate 5.43% and Zinc Oxide 4.10% to protect against wavelengths up to 372nm. These are really low active ingredient concentrations for an SPF 30 product. The encapsulation technology allows for the lower levels of active ingredients, while giving the product superior water-proof performance.
