GlaxoSmithKline, one of the world's leading research-based pharmaceutical and healthcare companies, hosted the GlaxoSmithKline 12th Annual IMPACT Awards Ceremony on March 17, 2009. Ten healthcare nonprofits in the Greater Philadelphia region were awarded $40,000 each in funding.
The GlaxoSmithKline 12th Annual IMPACT Award recipients were selected and honored for having a significant impact on their communities by providing access to proactive and effective healthcare services. The recipients included:

Individually, the work of these organizations helps people with often complex and diverse needs. About the GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Awards: To qualify for a GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Award, applicants must provide access to community healthcare services (primary mission) in the Pennsylvania counties of Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Lehigh, Montgomery or Philadelphia;
