April 8, 2009 - PRLog -- Province Mortgage Associates recently launched a unique financial wellness employee education program, entitled  M.O.R.E. (Mortgage, Organizational, Resource, Education) which is designed to educate employees about financial matters, including the importance of good credit , as well as mortgage basics. This exclusive, proprietary seminar-style program was developed by Province Mortgage Associates and is being offered free of charge to businesses throughout New England.

According to statistics, two out of three Americans say they have trouble paying their bills (Coping…1996), 75% of Americans report they have recently faced at least one financial problem, 53% of average income workers are dissatisfied with their financial well being (Joo…1998), 29% of Americans always feel they are in financial trouble, 35% find it hard to pay bills, 54% worry about how much they owe, 34% rate their financial situation as ‘very stressful’, 43% do not set money aside for retirement,  60% do not have money set aside to live for two months without income and the average American household has consumer debt equal to 20% of their yearly income (Maki, 2000).

According to Don Wilson, Director of Corporate Relations for Province, “With foreclosure rates in New England at an all time high, it’s more important than ever for people to get educated and make better choices regarding their homes. It affects their marriage, it affects their job performance and it affects their quality of life.”

Proponents of the M.O.R.E Program state that implementation of this program in the workplace can help reduce absenteeism, increase productivity, reduce human resource administrative costs, reduce employee stress, reduce health care premiums, reduce turnover and expenses, and increase morale, work satisfaction and employee loyalty. According to a survey conducted among corporate human resource executives, the financial illiteracy among workers “is considered the most critical unaddressed issue in the workplace.” (Cambridge Human Resource Group, 1995. The survey also concluded that the “toll on productivity caused by personal financial problems is the most pressing overlooked workplace issue.”

“Our intention with M.O.R.E. is to give employees the information they need to make informed decisions about their financial well being. We do this with a fun, dynamic, focused educational program,” said Province Mortgage Associates President, David Currie.

The M.O.R.E. Program provided by Province Mortgage Associates is a FREE on site educational seminar that offers employees free credit reports and credit analysis, free mortgage program education, free one-on-one mortgage and debt management consultation and free mortgage pre-approvals. According to Wilson, our staff can be available at the convenience of the employer, even after hours or during lunch time.
