Apr 07, 2009 – Waltham, MA - New England Data Services (NEDS), a data center offering hosting and managed technology services, announced a Virtual Hosting option as an addition to their service menu on Thursday.
The NEDS Virtual Server solution allows New England Data Services to offer their clients more of a selection in hosting their critical data and applications; allowing them to now choose between the options of hosting their own equipment (colocation) in the data center, or utilizing NEDS virtual and/or dedicated servers to handle their specific requirements.
One of New England Data Services customers was recently quoted stating, “As a start-up, we were looking for an affordable hosting solution that would allow us to scale up as we grow. The team at NEDS delivered a solution that could not be matched by any large hosting company. We are very happy with our transition into their data center.”
New England Data Services currently offers three Virtual Hosting options (VH 10, 20, 30) that are fully customizable, NEDS is able to expand its already world class datacenter offerings by providing more reliable and cost effective options for their hosting clients.
Christopher Souza, NEDS VP of Sales and Marketing says, “ my focus is keeping in-line with meeting customers’ needs and market trends by offering state of the art technological solutions.”
How Server Virtualization Works
Virtualization is a solution allowing organizations to run multiple virtual machines on one physical server. Each virtual machine utilizes an independent operating system as if they were individual servers, otherwise known as virtual servers. A virtual machine functions exactly like a physical computer and contains its own virtual CPU, RAM hard disk and network interface card. The computer resources of the physical server are treated as a uniform cluster of components that can be allocated to the virtual servers in an organized manner.
Organizations are striving for intelligent technology offering a multitude of benefits, allowing them to focus on their core competencies.
Virtual Server Benefits:
• Reduce IT costs by consolidating customer’s servers and providing a more scalable solution
• Improve business continuity with more flexibility and less downtime
• Increase in performance creating a more efficient environment for applications
• Enhance security for regulatory and compliance requirements
