Optical Image Technology Receives AIIM’s Carl E. Nelson Best Practices Award

Optical Image Technology (OIT), maker of the DocFinity suite of document imaging, document management, and business process management software, is pleased to announce it has been given the 2009 AIIM Carl E. Nelson Best Practices Award. The recognition took place during AIIM’s annual Association Awards Dinner at the Info360 event in Philadelphia. The award recognizes end users for their implementation of ECM vendor technology to improve business. OIT was one of three vendor finalists in the large company category.

The solution OIT provided was responsible for automating manual processes at an American-based medical laboratory testing and services company. Long-time OIT reseller and systems integrator CDMS was responsible for the project integration. The implementation resulted in significant paper savings, repurposing of staff members to higher-level work, and a massive reduction in bad debts over a three-year period.

The term "Best Practice" signifies a standard of excellence that an organization has achieved using a process that can be measured, adapted, and replicated by other businesses.

The award presents an opportunity for end user organizations to share their ECM project implementation success with peer organizations. It also enables ECM vendors to highlight the return on investment that businesses can achieve by using their technology.

Winners were selected from the three national finalists via popular vote by the AIIM community of professional members. The company was recognized during the AIIM Awards Dinner on Tuesday, March 31 at The Union League in Philadelphia.
