FAMILY history hunters who fear they may be barking up the wrong tree are being given a bit of a helping hand later this month.
For archivists from Swansea Council and other experts are hosting a free family history day at the National Waterfront Museum on April 25.
The Glamorgan Family History Society is being joined by Swansea Library Service, the West Glamorgan Archive Service as well as experts in the history of Gower, Pembrokeshire, Neath, Port Talbot and Ystradgynlais.
Members of the Glamorgan Gwent Archaeological Trust and the South Wales Miners Museum as well as researchers in military and postal history will also be on hand.
Graham Thomas, Swansea Council's Cabinet Member for Culture, Recreation and Tourism, said: "It's a chance for anyone who is searching for anything about their family history or the history of their area in South or West Wales to find out from the experts in a one-stop shop.
"Enthusiasts just starting out and struggling to learn more about their family history or geneology fans with years of experience will all have something to gain by going to this event."
Doors open at 10am and the experts will be on hand to help with your research and to offer advice and guidance until 4pm.
