Hatteras Island, North Carolina – Midgett Realty/Press Release - Midgett Realty offering more than 560 vacation rental properties on Hatteras Island and The Outer Banks since the 1960’s has announced that effective immediately vacationers renting one of Midgett Realty’s professionally managed properties that purchase travel protection (insurance) through Midgett Realty’s provider, CSA Travel Protection, will now be covered for job loss with only one year of continuous service with their employer. This stipulation was changed from five years and if effective on policies purchased after April 1, 2009.

This change, in light of today’s uncertain economic times, should alleviate some pressure for people worried about possible job loss while trying to reserve a much needed Outer Banks vacation. Most vacationers to Hatteras Island and the Outer Banks of North Carolina are aware that travel protection covers them for weather related issues but are unaware that the travel protection offered by Midgett Realty covers a multitude of items such as job loss; travel delays; and family emergencies. More information is available by calling Midgett Realty by calling 866-966-5870 or by visiting CSA Travel Protection at www.vacationrentalinsurance.com.

“Travel Protection has long been a highly recommended option to our services since, for a minimal fee, it helped protect our guests from losing money due to extreme weather or a multitude of other items that sometimes do arise causing a cancellation or delay of the family vacation. With the recent changes made by CSA Travel Protection, Midgett Realty guests are now receiving even more coverage and this recent change speaks directly to the fears brought on by the current economy. Vacations should relieve stress not increase stress levels – now people can reserve a vacation knowing that they are covered for job loss which should alleviate the apprehension we hear from our clients in regards to the economy,” stated Anthony Fletcher, General Manager of Midgett Realty.

About Midgett Realty

Serving Hatteras Island on the Outer Banks of North Carolina has been a Midgett family tradition for over a century. In the 1960’s two brothers named Midgett started a real estate company, and today, their children and the other staff of Midgett Realty offer over 560 vacation cottages and condos for rent.

The Midgett family has lived on the Outer Banks for at least three centuries, and today's Midgett’s are descendants of the tough, independent seafaring men and women who managed to thrive and survive on these isolated barrier islands. They have been fishermen and lifesavers and surfmen, and they have been the operators of the famous Hatteras Island - Manteo Bus Line, which carried islanders and visitors up and down the beach in the days before roads and bridges.

Today they are the owners of Hatteras Island's premier, full-service real estate company. Midgett Realty is one of the island's oldest family owned businesses, and the only real estate company owned and managed by Hatteras Island natives. The Midgett Realty family stands ready to share with you all the experiences they have had in several generations of living and working on Hatteras Island.
