FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Apr 06, 2009 -
BOCA RATON, FL – SafetyBook International (“SafetyBook”), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Sjöman Björn Corporation (“Sjöman Björn”), a privately held global safety solutions company, proudly announces the release of the SafetyBook® Spartan II consumer body armor system.

The SafetyBook® Spartan II makes use of high performance ballistic fibers commonly found in law enforcement body armor products which are layered and stitched to exceed Level IIIA ballistic resistant specifications. When a bullet or projectile strikes the SafetyBook®, the engaged fibers absorb and disperse the impact energy that is transmitted to the ballistic panel causing the bullet to deform or “mushroom” until the bullet has been stopped.

Certified by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) to defend against small arms gunfire including .44 Magnum, .357 Magnum, .40S&W, .45ACP, 9MM and small-arms submachine gun rounds, the less-than-two-pound SafetyBook® is designed to be placed within a consumers tote bag (briefcase, duty bag, messenger bag, backpack etc.) and held up-to-and-in-front-of the bearers chest to prevent life threatening injuries from gunshot fire.

“Sadly we are well aware of the spiraling use of firearms in our schools, universities, places of worship, and employment centers to commit violent crimes” said Mark Fitzsimmons, SafetyBook® Internationals CEO and inventor of this affordable life saving device.

“This coupled with the amplified prevalence of “massacre styled” active shootings like that of the recent tragedy in Binghamton, NY have provoked us to develop a lightweight and affordable bullet resistant product engineered to protect the lives of innocent consumers. This is body armor for the rest of us!”
