Phytolith Research Institute - The First of its Kind In Asia

April 6, 2009 - PRLog -- The increasing impetus on research has led to the exploration of several new avenues of social science and science disciplines that contribute substantially to a holistic knowledge of our surroundings. The study of phytoliths is one such discipline. phytoliths are silica plant bodies found within cells. Phytolith study  helps  to revel an amazing amalgamation of information pertaining to the biodiversity of a region, especially reconstruction of the past.

PRI aims to grow and promote the best of interdisciplinary science. It also undertakes private services such as phytolith analysis from various sample types such as soil, ash, pottery and stone tools and even provides special services like soil and water analysis for archaeologist, geologists and agricultural scientists, guidance on sampling strategy, interpretations and statistical analysis. It also provides sampling techniques and analysis and know-how for young scientists interested in bio-archaeology, botany and other related sciences.
