Working in conjunction with Volkswagen, Offsetters is pleased to participate a new challenge: drive from Calgary to Vancouver on a single tank of diesel, blended with 5% biodiesel. Starting early in the morning on 7th April, four drivers including Offsetters President, James Tansey, will steer two Jetta TDI vehicles through the Rockies arriving in time for the start of the Canucks-Flames game in Vancouver.
While the vehicles are among the most efficient in North America, Offsetters will offset the balance of the emissions resulting from the journey. We will provide progress updates throughout the journey, beginning at 3am on 7th April on Twitter at: http://twitter.com/
The challenge builds on a similar challenge launched last year by VW dealer Mike Velemirovich, who drove over 1100km from Halifax to see his beloved see his beloved Habs play in Montreal. The distance is approximately the same but there are no mountains between Halifax and Montreal to test the fuel efficiency target.
