April 6, 2009 - PRLog -- BIRMINGHAM, AL - EHS is pleased to announce that as of March 31, 2009, the Maryland Health Care Commission (MHCC) has selected EHS as a qualified participant to assist with the accelerated adoption of EHRs by Maryland physicians.

“Statewide, the State of Maryland has pledged to improve health care using electronic health records,” said Gavin Lawson, Director of Market Development for EHS. “EHS is privileged to be chosen by the MHCC as a qualified participant in this extraordinary endeavor to implement a health information exchange on a statewide scale. Upon completion of the project, it will be the patient who benefits from a higher quality of care.”

The MHCC selected EHS after reviewing the results from an exhaustive application process. This process involved a detailed product evaluation and review of an EHS-supplied list of area clinics that have successfully deployed and are using EHR from EHS. EHS has enthusiastically offered special package pricing for all physician practices selected to participate in the program.

The Maryland Health Care Commission (MHCC) is dedicated to fostering and facilitating the expansion of health information technology throughout Maryland. For more information, please visit http://mhcc.maryland.gov.
