Follow on Google News | Portrait Artist launches Indalo gifts websitePortrait artist, Melanie Bourne, has launched a website selling lucky Indalo gifts online. This is the first time such products have been made available on the internet via a site dedicated to the Indalo lucky symbol talisman.
By: Indalo Art Indalo Man is a lucky symbol used as a good luck charm or talisman (particularly in Spain). It originates from paintings that were found on the walls of ancient neolithic caves in Almeria in the middle of the last Century and which date back over 4,500 years. It is the figure of a man holding a rainbow in outstretched arms - not dissimilar to other such paintings found around the world, and sometimes referred to as the Rainbow Warrior (especially in North American Indian folklore). Although the origin of the word Indalo is thought to be San Indalecio - a 1st Century AD saint who was sent by Rome to evangalise the Iberian Peninsular and is now the patron saint of the region, archaeologists and anthropologists believe the symbol represents the search by primitive man for wisdom and truth in the universe. The little lucky charm is considered a guardian angel and many believe it represents a messenger from God. Melanie's website contains many examples of the Indalo symbol and offers Lucky Indalo charmstones and other such products for sale online. Melanie is the Portrait Artist at Hotel Valle del Este near Vera in the south east corner of Andalucia. She studied art in Surrey in the UK and also at University in Liverpool in the North West of England where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree.
