San Francisco, USA – March 1, 2008 – Umundo, a digital media technology start-up specializing in push-based media distribution services announced today its strategic partnership with ZingMobile, a growing regional mobile content aggregator based in Asia. They are set to begin their collaboration by launching a bollywood themed mobile client in Bangladesh, a fast growing mobile market in South Asia.
Together they will be launching ZingMobile Bollywood, a mobile-based service to distribute and sell Bollywood mobile content to mobile users. This new mobile service allows mobile users to purchase the latest in bollywood music tracks, music videos and wallpapers directly from their mobile handsets. The service will launch with a mobile client for Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, LG and Motorola phones. Support for Blackberry and iPhone has also been planned for the near future.
Bangladesh mobile users can now get their favorite hits coming to them wherever they are via the mobile. Also since the service is push-based, the moment any new music tracks or music videos become available, they will be immediately updated with the latest on their mobile devices.
Umundo enables time, place and platform-shifting to deliver content, when users want it, where they want it and regardless of the carrier or mobile device. It allows anyone to publish, distribute and consume video and audio content instantly to and from any device and platform. This also includes social networking platforms such as Orkut, Facebook, Bebo, MySpace, MyYahoo and others.
"We believe that with this service, a new level of mobile enjoyment can be experienced by mobile users in Bangladesh", said Mohamed Reezan, VP, Umundo Corporation, "Our opt-in push model will make this the single most unique mobile service here in Bangladesh for years to come" continued Reezan.
The mobile service has been slated for the Bangladesh mobile market before being releasing in other parts of Asia. It is no about looking for the content but bringing the content to you.
