Postal Strategies Provides Solution to Upcoming Postage Hike

Arizona woman shows businesses how they can still save money on postage despite May 11 USPS rate hike

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Apr 03, 2009 -
Phoenix, AZ,  With the cost of a stamp rising to 44 cents this spring, one Arizona businesswoman is showing small business owners that there’s a better way.

Sandy Smith, president of Postal Strategies, is taking on the May 11 rate hike by offering presort mail discounts to businesses that wouldn’t ordinarily qualify, saving them money.

“The cost of a stamp has increased 33 percent over the past decade,” Smith said. “If any other business expense skyrocketed like that, you’d look for cheaper alternatives. When it comes to the post office, we’re that alternative.”

Smith believes it’s time that every business takes a long, hard look at just how much they’re spending for postage.

“We’re talking about real savings,” Smith said. “If a business mails just 100 pieces of mail a day with us, they can save almost $700 a year. That’s a significant savings.”

Before Postal Strategies, small businesses had to clear several major hurdles if they wanted to cut their postage costs. They had to purchase a permit from the post office, invest in postal software and, last but not least, commit to mailing at least 500 pieces of mail each time.

But Postal Strategies changed all of that. Suddenly, small business owners who could never dream of reaching the 500-piece minimum began receiving discounted rates. It didn’t take long for them to begin raving about the reliable, free service that not only saves them money but also picks up when they request and delivers the mail to the post office for them.

Judy Spaulding of Pulte Homes says her company uses Postal Strategies on a daily basis and loves the convenience and savings.

“They’re a very reliable service - dependable and easy to use,” Spaulding said. “There’s nothing complicated about getting started and our savings could add up to a couple thousand dollars this year.”

Smith said businesses appreciate that the service costs them absolutely nothing and requires no contracts or minimum piece count. They save up to 15 percent - whether they mail one letter or 500 - and they never have to set foot in a post office again.

“We make your business more efficient and more productive while saving you money - all the more important in these tough economic times,” Smith said.

Patrick Murphy, chief financial officer for DBG Benefits and another Postal Strategies customer, has used the service for a year and says it improves his company’s bottom line.

“Each small savings adds up,” he said. “In this day and age, I don’t think you can turn your back on something that saves you money.”
