Cancer Wellness Center to Benefit from Highland Park Clothing Store Grand Opening
NORTHBROOK, IL
The Cancer Wellness Center in Northbrook & Grayslake celebrates its 20th Anniversary with Avant For Men during the new clothing store’s grand opening at 607 Elm Place in Highland Park.
Ten percent of Avant’s gross sales between April 13 and May 17 will be donated to the Center, which provides free educational, counseling and support services to thousands of area residents living with cancer.
“We are extremely appreciative of the owner, Ollie Galam, and his generosity in choosing to support our organization as he opens his newest men’s store,” said Nancy Laatsch, executive director of the Center. “Because of the economy, we are seeing more and more people at the Center who need our help in navigating their cancer journey, and his gift will make a significant impact in our ability to meet the community need.”
The mission of the Center is to help people living with cancer by providing a life-enhancing support community. Programs include individual, couples and family counseling, wellness programs such as yoga and meditation, support groups, and educational programs on topics such as nutrition and healthy lifestyles.
The Cancer Wellness Center’s Northbrook site is at 215 Revere Drive. In Grayslake, programs and services are offered on Tuesdays from 3 to 9 p.m. in donated space at Wildwood Presbyterian Church. To make an appointment and learn more about either site, phone 847-509-9595.
Laatsch hopes people will explore the store, at the corner of Elm and Second Street, for themselves. “Even if you don’t purchase anything that day, you can still make a gift to the Center through the store, and you’ll receive a $50 off coupon good towards any future purchase of $100 or more,” she added. “Ollie is offering an economic stimulus plan of his own!”
Avant for Men carries Italian and European designers such as Canali, Zanella, Pal Zileri, Joseph Abboud, Tommy Bahama and St. Croix. Customers will find a complete range of styles from sportswear to suits and even tuxedos. Avant also offers a wide selection of apparel for boys.
