Baden-Baden - On Friday, Baden-Baden is the center of the world attention. The World leaders are flocking in to celebrate the 60th aniversarry of the NATO. The health institutions are preparing for the onrush of the participants. The SPA & Tourism association of Baden-Baden as well as the medical tourism platform ONMEDIX register great interest in health services.
Around 3500 delegates will accompany the 60 Heads of State and Government. There will be more 3500 press representatives, not to forget the 15.000 police officers and a few thousand people watching. The city is accustomed to a high volume of visitors. 8.5 million days guests and 850,000 overnight visitors came last year in the historic bath and spa city.
Many of the famous statesmen, visiting Baden-Baden before Barack Obama, came not just for State matters but also because of the famous mineral springs. So already see in the second century AD when the Roman emperors Trajan and Hadrian were visiting the town of Aquae as Baden-Baden was called back then.
Almost Two thousand years later interests have not really changed. In this political mega event the interest in the baths and the health facilities of Baden-Baden are enormous. According to the Managing Director of the Baden-Baden SPA & Tourism association Ms. Goertz-Meissner, “judging by the visits of the Health & Wellness area on the website of the association there is considerable interest in those traditional attractions”
