Marketing Boot Camp Offers New Ideas in Hard Times

Local Company Teaches Unique Marketing Strategies To National Contractors At Marketing Boot Camp

April 2, 2009 - PRLog -- What is a Master Mind session? Basically, it is the gathering of several “minds” in a room discussing a topic in hopes of using one another’s ideas to increase strengths and eliminate weaknesses. This is particularly important in business right now as so many industries are becoming weakened by the economy. It makes one wonder if the influential leaders of these industries that are weakening faster than others have gathered together to have a sort of “Master Mind” session? And how could this help?

One industry that is seeing the effects of the weakening economy is the home improvement industry. While some geographic areas differ from others and many factors affect each company as a separate entity, the industry is still seeing many contractors struggling. The answer to some is to cut their asking price and pressure the customers more than ever that this “cheap” deal is once in a lifetime and is only available if they buy NOW! Others have cut costs by eliminating employees and downsizing their business.

This past weekend, one group of contracting pioneers who try not to follow the road already traveled, recently focused their attention towards spending three thirteen-hour days studying and intensely training to increase the time and money they are spending on their business, rather than the other way around. This group of contractors consisted of home improvement business owners and marketing directors from across the country, many of which are members of the Certified Contractors Network (CCN).

CCN put together the three-day program, which consisted of training sessions that taught how to become more familiar and creative with several marketing outlets, including canvassing, direct mail, Internet marketing, event marketing, and marketing to referrals, among others. The Boot Camp attendees were also treated to a live Master Mind session during which they had the opportunity to see and hear “The Millionaire Maker” Dan Kennedy speak. Kennedy, a world-renowned author, speaker, and marketing guru, offered new insights into taking a different approach during these troublesome times – and this new attitude was reflected throughout the entire weekend of Boot Camp.

Local company, Energy Swing Windows, participated in the Booth Camp with Owner, Steve Rennekamp, and Marketing Director, Ashley Moss, teaching sessions that focused on different marketing elements they have found to increase their business throughout these troublesome times. These strategies included increased event marketing, referral-based marketing, and having a defined marketing message that builds relationships with customers and puts their best interest first, rather than ignores their needs.

CCN is a national organization that promotes ethics, education, leadership, and innovation to achieve mutual benefit between the construction industry and the community. As a seven-year member, Energy Swing Windows is the only contractor in Pennsylvania who is certified through this organization
