It’s not surprising that with so much to offer travellers, Thailand has attracted an increasing number of tourists to its shores. There are, however, still many undiscovered gems and cultural experiences open to the more adventurous traveller! i-to-i’s new projects in both the north and south of Thailand will give travellers the chance to get off the beaten-track and get an all round experience of this incredible country.
Travellers who live for an adventurous challenge may be interested in the Elephant and Mountain Adventure in North Thailand. This project will give travellers the chance to work closely with these magnificent animals, including giving them their breakfast and teaching the keepers a spot of English! There are also a bundle of exciting extras including; a trek through the other worldly mountains of Chiang Mai, a trip on a bamboo raft for some awesome wildlife viewing, an elephant ride through the jungle and spending the night in a remote hill tribe village, not bad for 22 days!
For a bit more of a personal experience of the North, travellers can opt for Teaching and Trekking. Travellers will be able to spend 3 weeks in the beautiful and out of the way district of Rayong, absorbing the local culture and making a difference to the lives of the locals before heading off to get their hiking boots on for 2 more weeks of trekking through the dense forests and getting to know the mountain’s locals!
Travellers looking to see the best and most rarely visited of Thailand’s beautiful islands can head to the southern side of the country for a Thailand island adventure and English teaching in Chumphon. This project is truly the perfect mixture of doing something worthwhile and complete relaxation. Travellers will get a deeper insight into the country’s culture working with local children teaching English, before packing their last 2 weeks full of adventure on the idyllic islands of Khao Sok and Koh Samui. There will be the opportunity to set off tubing down the river to see wildlife and waterfalls, spend the night in a real tree house, go canoeing, explore a bat cave, go on boat trip and spend a day in the modern whirlwind that is Bangkok!
If travellers want to discover a bit more of their wild side, there’s also the option of combining a visit to the island paradises of southern Thailand and working with Gibbons! The project will allow travellers to observe gibbons in their natural habitat, help out with feeding and get involved with everyday care of these fascinating creatures. Travellers will then be off on a rollercoaster of activities on the island of Khao Sok; including a night time safari through the rainforest and plenty of time to kick back on the white sandy beaches!
