Zuma's pairs the rescued horses with rescued children in the Foster Care System, together with the help a a trained psychotherapist the two unlikely paired souls begin to heal through a very effective experiential therapy, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.
With the help of Organizations such as ASPCA, organizations like Zuma's Rescue Ranch that are out there making a difference in the world have the opportunity to provide their much needed services to the community.
Zuma's Rescue Ranch is partnered with The University of Denver paving a new way in the field of Animal Assisted Therapies for Humans. The two have teamed up in a three year long research effort to prove without question, that animals have the unique ability to heal the human psyche with little to no effort in a much shorter amount of time than traditional therapeutic methods.
