Any car with an FM radio, be it factory or aftermarket, can now have a direct iPod® or iPhone® connection thanks to iSimple®. The iSimple® TranzIt™ (IS77) – the newest addition to the popular iSimple line of automotive iPod docking kits – is a truly universal interface that offers static-free, high quality sound directly through any FM car stereo. Even better, the IS77 provides battery charging for all dockable iPod and iPhone models. The MSRP on the iSimple TranzIt is $89.95.
This new interface utilizes an “antenna bypass” (described as being similar to the signal switch boxes used on video game systems) to send a signal directly into any FM car stereo. All the driver has to do is designate a radio preset (87.9 or 88.3FM) as an “iPod channel,” plug in his/her iPod and turn the iSimple TransIt on. To browse and select tracks, the operator simply uses the iPod or iPhone clickwheel or touch screen controls. The IS77 can also be used in conjunction with an iPhone to play streaming online audio from such services as Pandora, AOL Radio or Last.fm.
Because the iSimple TranzIt is “hardwired”
And, should a consumer decide to do so, the iPod/iPhone docking cable on the iSimple TranzIt can be substituted with an optional headphone-style input port for use with any number of popular portable media devices.
