With the theme, “Accessing Growth Capital for a Sustainable Future,” E-Days in Savannah will feature conference tracks on Logistics, Industrial Design and Renewable Energy. The core of the program is a business matchmaking service designed to help companies find potential partners, distributors or agents to meet their specific needs. It is the single most important Swedish-American business networking and trade conference.
“We have gathered an incredible group of keynote speakers for this year’s US E-Days,” said Viveka Wahlstedt, chairman, SACC-USA and managing director, Carnegie Worldwide. “We are expecting an outstanding group of companies to attend and network during the three day program.
“Sweden is a world leader in clean-tech and can bring a great deal of expertise to the US, which is now focusing its attention on developing a stronger renewable energy and environmentally focused sector in its economy,” Ms. Wahlstedt continued.
Among the keynote speakers are: Anders Berggren, chief executive officer, Marmon Retail, a Berkshire Hathaway company; Peter Domini, business developer, Stena Metall; Glen Lurie, president, national distribution, AT&T Wireless; Morten Neraas, senior vice president, commercial/finance, Green Circle Bio Energy; Jenny Rosberg, NASDAQ OMX Group Inc.; Dr. David Sholl, energy sustainability, Georgia Institute of Technology; Stephen Spoonamoore, CEO, ABS Materials; and Michael Wood, former United States ambassador to Sweden.
“As a company focused on sustainability, we are looking forward to participating in EDays,” said Neraas of Green Circle Bio Energy, which opened the world’s largest wood pellet plant in north Florida last year. “Now more than ever, green technology is no longer a nice thing to do, it is absolute necessity if we want to move toward energy independence and revive the world’s economies.”
The conference will begin with a reception, April 19th at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) with opening remarks from Paula Wallace, president of SCAD, and Eric Winger, president and CEO of the Savannah Economic Development Authority.
