In the spirit of collaboration, three women-owned Nevada businesses share not just space at the Nevada Women’s Expo, April 4 and 5, but also their love of the outdoors, their varied expertise, and their enthusiasm for inspiring women to hike and enjoy the trails.
“Why keep secrets?” asks Kellie Lee, outdoor fashion entrepreneur Kellie Lee-Shields of Blue Sky Inspirations. She’s exhibiting her collection of inspirational T-shirts, turning her Be Active footprint into the next gotta-have outdoor fashion logo. She’ll also be talking about her favorite hikes and Nevada hot springs.
“I’m going to the event to share what I know,” says Lee-Shields, “but I hope I’ll be spending most of my time listening and learning from other women. We all have our favorite hikes and hot springs, and I’ll have mine pinned on a map to show all the women just how close to home these hikes are.”
Alongside Blue Sky Inspirations, photographer Theresa Rose of Rose Graphics exhibits her Nevada outdoor photographs - breath-taking mountain shots, panoramas, and Nevada wildflower close-ups. And she'll share secrets, too, showing where she sets up her tripod for the best spots of Nevada’s scenic outdoors. Plus, she’ll talk about her tips to shooting fabulous photos.
Ladies-Hiking.com, the third part of the group, is a new site, launched just this year, to provide a place for women to connect, talk about what to wear on the trail, what to eat, what to do, where to go and just to share their love of the outdoors. It’s a grassroots union, and in that same spirit, Ladies-Hiking gathered two of its favorite women-owned businesses to join together at the Nevada Women’s Expo, April 4 and April 5.

In the end, the group hopes to inspire women to find their inner hiker and take to the hills for health, joy and the beauty of nature.
