Orlando Hispanic Film Festival announces US Census PSA competition.

April 1, 2009 - PRLog -- Orlando, FL. - As part of the Orlando Hispanic Film Festival’s (OHFF) Educational Reach Program, the OHFF will begin its FREE 4 part workshop entitled “Enlighten, Camera, Action”, how to make a public service announcement (PSA). This year OHFF has partnered with the 2010 Census and PSA’s will be required to promote Census awareness in the Hispanic community. “We are excited to work with the 2010 US Census! It is important for every cultural and or arts event to integrate the Census in any type of awareness campaign planned. The more people that complete the Census, the more money it means for our community”, said OHFF Executive Director , James Schoepflin. The winner’s PSA will screen at the 2009 OHFF and possibly air on television. All ages are welcome. Each workshop is free and open to the public.

Part 1, Pre-Production will be held Thursday April 9, 2009 7PM at the
Orlando Public Library.

Part 2, Production will be held Thursday May 14, 2009 7PM at the Orlando Public Library.

Part 3, Post Production will be held Thursday June 11, 2009 at the Orlando Public Library.

Part 4, Screening of completed PSA's and audience voting for best Census PSA will be held at the Orlando Public Library Thursday July 9, 2009 at the Orlando Public Library.

The Educational Reach Program (ERP) is an arm of the OHFF and was created to provide free resources to independent and aspiring filmmakers. The workshops provide educational, informational and excellent networking opportunities for all that attend. The  ERP is in it's 3rd year providing FREE workshops and is looking forward to providing many more for the local independent filmmaking community.
