In enabling the surgeon to fully control and maintain joint distraction, the De Mayo Universal Distractor™ lets the surgeon see into the posterior regions of the joint. This advantage eliminates the need for an assistant to physically manipulate the knee joint or for the surgeon to achieve distraction by applying pressure to the joint with the aid of a stress post, which sometimes creates post-op pain.
