FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Mar 30, 2009 -
Why are Americans wary of the Afghanistan situation?  The recession, Iraq, and ongoing frustration.  We can’t win Afghanistan.  Not alone at least. Me saying we can’t win the war is almost blasphemy because we as Americans are proud that we can blow up any nation that doesn’t go along with the inerests of Lady Liberty. Yes we do have the most powerful military in the world, but we can’t win a war against a entity that is not a sanctioned government.  So we have to get the Government of Pakistan and Afghanistan.  This is just like the war on drugs that was so popular back in the 90’s.  We bump up security on the border and slow down the flow of drugs into the country.   So what you say?  They are now bringing people into the United States and are making the drugs on our soil.  There has to be political will to stop something like this.  South of the border, they are making too much money to care.  Drugs have bankrolled almost every corrupt country south of the United States.  Just like the war on drugs, the war on terror has no enemy lines.  Afghanistan and Iraq have been going on for 7 1/2 years now.  If we don’t learn from the Iraq and win politically, there will be no progress and it will become a permanent stay for our military.  I’m pretty sure the plan was not to occupy Iraq or Afghanistan.  The longest war to date is Vietnam 8 years, 5 months; Afghanistan (October 2001 to present); Iraq (March 2003-Present). See a trend here?  That is why Americans are almost evenly split on this issue.  Only 31 percent of Americans believe the United States is winning the war in Afghanistan. Fifty percent believe the United States is winning in Iraq — the highest number in at least five years. But Americans still want to get out of Iraq.  America is still the most capable country in the world but, we have far less confidence in Afghanistan and Iraq.
