3. Prepare an opening statement for your cold call
The last thing cold callers want is to sound stiff or robotic, as though reading word for word from a script. Still an attention-getting opening that’s comfortable for the caller can be an effective way to start. After the opening, conversation can be more interactive, leading up to asking for an appointment time. Professional cold callers often advocate including a benefit in the opening statement, or a statement that’s likely to stimulate the prospect’s interest to learn more about offered products or services during a personal appointment.
