The ZX88 is the latest hoist model to enter production at Street Crane Company.  At 25 tonnes safe working load, this is the largest model in the ZX6-8 range.  A key design objective was to standardise components and speed build time, making the units exceptionally competitive, both in the UK and internationally.  The open plan design improves serviceability and performance and makes it possible to easily customise hoists to meet different UK and overseas customer requirements.

Supporting the development programme, Street Crane is currently extending and reorganising their Chapel-en-le-Frith factory.  This will increase the capacity for whole crane production and support the expanding international business in major cranes sub systems that are supplied to other crane builders overseas.

Launched in the Spring of 2008, after an intensive £1.5 million three-year development programme, Street Crane had sold more than 500 units of their ZX6-8 hoists by November.  Many of these have been shipped to overseas crane builders, but reception by UK manufacturers has also been enthusiastic.

“One of the key aims of the development programme was to improve the in-service performance of our hoists still further.  To achieve this, critical components, such as gear box assemblies, were subject to advanced vibration analysis to eliminate even barely discernable imbalances and imprecision in movements.  We are extremely confident that the ZX88 hoist sets new standards for reliability and performance.” explained managing director, Andrew Pimblett.

Further development of the Street Crane hoist range continues.  Based on the same design and engineering principles of the ZX6-8, the ZX10 is well advanced with launch planned in 2009.  This will take the capacity of these new generation modular hoists to 50 tonnes SWL.

Street Crane also produces the custom built VX Hoist.  This is a heavy duty model for use in arduous and extreme conditions that is available in capacities up to 200 tonnes SWL.   Widely used by UK manufacturers in metal production and heavy engineering, the VX Hoist has an open chassis design so that all components are easy to access and they are easily customised to meet special requirements.
