Regardless of its name, it’s gentle on the wallet, leaving a little extra money for some added fun. It all started with Goldfish in Ossining www.goldfishdining.com, with a Prix Fix Menu for $15 dollars from Monday thru Wednesday for a three-course meal. It’s a true bargain considering the fact that I had Mussels sautéed in a garlic lemon broth as an appetizer, followed by a Grilled New York Strip Steak with sautéed spinach and herb potato cake, for dessert I had a chocolate Pyramid for a total of $20 dollars which included tip and taxes.
The new Half Moon restaurant at the former Chart House location on the Hudson River in Dobbs Ferry is now offering a $14.95 stimulus menu served Monday through Thursday. A three-course meal that includes a Chef’s appetizer, choice of salad and some entrées fit for a king. I had the Chef’s appetizer; the tossed iceberg and the 8oz grilled skirt steak for a total of $20 dollars, which included tip and taxes. Visit the website for more details: http://harvest2000.com/
Chef Andrea in West Harrison, also launched an appetite stimulus menu for $14.95 which is a three course meal with Italian specialties like the Chef’s Antipasto, baked manicotti or a even a dinner portion Mista salad, topped with grilled chicken or Salmon, aged balsamic, walnuts, sliced apples and cranberries, with choice of gorgonzola or goat cheese. http://chefandrea.net or call (914) 328-1414
These specials are incredible and the question is, how long will these deals last and why would anyone choose to stay home and cook? Personally for $14.95, the less questions I ask, the more time I will have available to dine.
