Over the last three years, StreamCity has produced over two hundred videos for charities and other non-profits. With a number of household name charities as clients and an increasing number of commissions for similar web based mini-documentaries and case study videos, the London based online video specialists have announced that a production team will be working solely on third sector commissions from the beginning of April.
Simon Allchorn, Head of Production at StreamCity, said "Video is a great way to communicate with a charity's stakeholders whether that means donors, staff or service users."
But to get it right, experience counts. "The disciplines needed are very different to our more corporate work and by creating a specially chosen team, experienced in the particular needs of video production for charities, we can be sure that everyone involved is treated with sensitivity and respect."
And, he says, that leads to a better end product. "To produce engaging and compelling videos you have to get the best out of your contributors - even if it is the first time that they have appeared on camera. We concentrate on building trusting relationships with contributors to encourage an intimate but confident style of video."
Already, StreamCity's Third Sector Unit has received commissions for mini-documentaries from two leading UK charities, Mencap and Rethink; and work on a major video project for The Prince's Trust is also underway.
