Numina Group Sponsors “green” Innovation

March 27, 2009 - PRLog -- Colin Coon, an innovative high school senior from Sarasota Florida, has embarked on a cross country journey to promote “alternative fuel vehicles”.  For his senior project, he retrofitted a 1980 Mercedes diesel station wagon to run on waste vegetable oil.  Colin’s goal is to travel cross country spreading the word that “anyone and everyone can be green in their daily lives.”  Colin is keeping a blog of his cross country adventure at www.colinsgreenmachine.com .

Colin recently made a stop at one of his sponsors, the Numina Group, located in Woodridge, Illinois. Numina Group has standardized, when applicable, on higher efficiency 24 volt DC conveyor in systems supplied to manufacturing and warehouse automation projects. DC roller driven conveyor runs only when a product is present, reducing energy consumption by over 50% compared to traditional AC motor driven conveyor. It is a win-win for both the client’s bottom-line and the environment. The Numina Group also invested in a new energy efficient office/technology center. The building was super insulated, uses energy efficient lighting, was equipped with high efficiency HVAC, and high E rated glass windows to capture solar energy.  As a company, all employees have agreed to turn off lights when natural lighting is sufficient, recycle old batteries, used ink cartridges, pop cans and paper, and to eliminate plastic water bottles and Styrofoam cups.
