It started with a bizarre request for a pair of fishshaped cufflinks. Now a three-time winner for Jewelry Brand of the Year at the UK Jewelry Awards, Links of London has flourished with its fine contemporary jewelry classics, wearable from day to evening, for almost 20 years. And they aren’t all sea creatures.
Launching this season, Links of London’s Anthology Collection steps up the line with its lockets, gold & silver pendants, onyx and diamonds. Featuring designs inspired by the sense of discovery, the jewelry draws from traditional motifs in nature and various cultures. The onyx and rock crystal locket earrings (above) have a subtle botanical etching flanked by 18K gold ($675). The earrings echo a design on the Capsule Pendant necklace, an oblong locket native to Japan.
Links of London also took their own approach to the inro design, creating the Diamond Capsule necklace (right). With 11.1 carats of pavé black and white
diamonds and 18K white gold chain, the piece took more than 50 hours to create. While the 774 diamonds seem to be the treasure, the modern inro offers
a secret chamber for those items even closer to the heart ($58,000).
