PR Log (Press Release) –
Mar 25, 2009 – The Stewards Fund of Raleigh, NC has made a $15,000 all-or-nothing challenge grant to Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network (WIHN). During the three-month period April 1, 2009 through June 30, 2009, gifts to WIHN by new donors who have not supported WIHN before and increased gifts from existing donors will be matched in an equal amount by The Stewards Fund.
The gifts will help WIHN achieve its mission of providing shelter, meals, case management and educational services to homeless families in addition to promoting action and awareness in the community regarding homelessness. Key to WIHN’s success is involving and educating the community by mobilizing more than 2200 volunteers from more than fifty congregations within the faith community, as well as in many corporations and civic organizations. Demand for WIHN services is at an all-time high. WIHN accepts gifts of cash and securities. For further information, contact Executive Director Lisa Williams at 919-832-6024. website:

Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network is a community response to homelessness. Wake Interfaith Hospitality Network (WIHN) is dedicated to ending homelessness. Our vision is one of restoring hope and dignity to a stigmatized population barely surviving on the margins of society. We believe that a healthy family is one that maintains permanent housing, is sufficiently fed, has gainful employment and supports its members emotionally. In providing for those most basic needs, we are assisting families in regaining respect for both themselves and gaining respect from those in the community, strengthening bonds between people within our neighborhoods and cities. We envision a society in which all members contribute and are content with stability and connections in their lives.
