It takes a lot of customer loyalty for a company to reach the 25 year mark. That’s why Initial Impact, of Spring Lake, is celebrating its anniversary with a unique and fun program for its loyal customers. The company, which creates custom embroidered and silk-screened apparel as well as imprinted promotional products and gifts, will bring lunch to any of its corporate customers who accumulate $1,000 in orders! A separate program for retail customers will reward them with a special gift each time they accumulate $250 in purchases. To help both retail and corporate customers reach their goal and receive their gift, Initial Impact will give all current customers a “bonus credit” of $100 for corporate customers and $25 for retail.
“Particularly in these economic times we want to thank our customers for the loyalty they have shown us,” says Donna Szakats, who with her husband, Dale opened Initial Impact in 1984.
The couple actually began their business embroidering items for retail outlets in Ohio, but moved to New Jersey when Six Flags offered them an opportunity to set up an embroidery booth inside the amusement park. From there they landed contracts with Strawbridge and Clothier and Lillian Vernon, monogramming towels and other items, and in 1987, opened their retail store and showroom at 516 Warren Avenue in Spring Lake.

Initial Impact also offers a wide variety of cost-effective promotional products that are reasonably priced and customized, as well as special gifts for individual customers. “We have everything from luxurious monogrammed robes and towels, to baby blankets, pillows and bibs,” says Donna.
She and her husband Dale credit customer satisfaction as the most important reason for their success over the last 25 years. Donna explains: “We make sure that all of the gifts and items purchased from Initial Impact are handled with care and special attention - whether it’s one baby blanket, a dozen shirts for the local Little League team, or a 1,000+ piece corporate order. Our customers know they can depend on us to get their items delivered on time and looking great.”
