Andre Best of Raleigh, NC and Leonard Love of York, SC have signed National Letters of Intents to attend Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC and participate on the men's basketball team, according to Head Coach James Stinson.
Best is a 6'1 point guard who played for Head Coach Tony Taylor at Queen City Prep Academy in Charlotte, NC. He averaged 12 points and 5 assists this season.
Love is a 6'2 shooting guard who also played for Head Coach Tony Taylor at Queen City Prep Academy. He averaged 21 points per game.
"We are getting two quality student athletes with student being the emphasis. This was something we were looking to fill Livingstone's growth and both of these young men will help us to get better this upcoming year. They were both very well coached at Queen City Prep Academy, and are very good students," Coach James Stinson said.
"I am highly excited to have signed two more of Queen City Prep's fine young men to a four-year institution of higher learning. This is a proud day in both of these young men's lives and in the lives of their families. They were very excited which is the most fulfilling aspect of my job as Head Coach here at Queen City Prep. These young men dreamed of playing college basketball together and now they get the opportunity to do it on one of the biggest stages in college basketball, the CIAA. It does my heart proud that two of my best athletes, Andre Best and O.B. Love, will be playing for my former coach, James Stinson. I look forward to seeing these young men play in the CIAA Tournament next season with the Blue Bears of Livingstone College. I had great experiences playing under Coach Stinson, and now Best and Love will experience the joy of playing for a coach that truly cares about the growth of young men as I did," says Coach Tony Taylor.
